Day 1 - Boarding the ship

Left home just after 10am as my boarding time was 1pm. For the first time ever I drove all the way under the speed limit by choice. Satnav eta was 12.30 and they said don't arrive early. Got here at 12.55 and found the whole boarding process really easy. Dropped off cases from car and then boarded all on my own despite having booked special assistance just in case.

Cabin on deck 12, L129, right by the smoking area 👌 and just along from the pools and the buffet restaurant. Lovely balcony, although not sure how much use it'll get. All unpacked and glad I have the room to myself as I've used all the hangers and most of the drawers.
Down for fire drill at 4pm, not exactly easy to find but I'm here.

They have a my holiday app which you're supposed to be able to use without a WiFi package but so far I've been unable to connect without WiFi 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Nice dinner with freedom dining, although company a bit suspect. 5 of us on a table for 6, nice couple from Poole who weren't drinking due to a boozy lunch and 2 older guys, brothers, who I suspect were drunk and a bit embarrassing.

Was going to go to the show but got talking photography with the Poole couple and was a bit late so went out for cigarette with coffee and brandy.

Read on the P & O website I could take a litre of alcohol on board for consumption in my room so stuck some brandy in my case. Smoking deck is just an extension of my room  isn't it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Didn't buy a drink package as it seemed very expensive so we'll see how it goes, can always add it later.

Cruise Review
